Company Hankook & Company automotive battery brand ATLASBX named winner of Korea Master Brand Awards 2022 2022. 04. 27 - Selected as representative brand of South Korea in the automotive battery category by consumers - Providing products and services in approximately 100 countries and to 450 companies worldwide ATLASBX, an automotive battery brand of Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., was selected as the representative brand in the vehicle battery category of the 'Korea Master Brand Awards 2022' ATLASBX is a lead-acid battery brand that produces various product lines and provides technology services such as uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and energy storage systems (ESS) for passenger cars, trucks, buses, recreational vehicles, and industrial vehicles. The company's products provide optimal performance through continuous R&D and strict quality management. In particular, the implementation and development of its X-Frame technology in its product line allowed for strong performance and battery life extension of more than 30%. The Korea Master Brand Awards, which marks its 17th anniversary this year, is an awards event in which consumers vote for brands they love. After two weeks of online voting, the evaluation of the nomination was made based on the Master Brand Index (MBI), which weighed seven categories including consumer brand awareness, recognition, differentiation, reliability, leadership, quality, and consumer loyalty. Hankook & Company is the first company in Korea that launched a maintenance free (MF) battery in 1982. Following technological and quality advancement through continuous research and development, the company succeeded in developing an ultra-high performance battery (UHPB) as well as the Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery for start-stop engine systems in 2013. Hankook & Company grew its presence in the global market by expanding its domestic and foreign production and sales networks. Company Hankook & Company's donations towards Community Chest of Korea reached KRW 12.8 billion 2022. 04. 29 - Hankook & Company donates an additional KRW 750 million in support of local communities - Total amount of donations since 2003 contributed by the company reached KRW 12.8 billion - Demonstrating Hankook & Company's support of social welfare institutions and local communities Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., the holding company of Hankook Tire & Technology, has made an additional donation of KRW 750 million to the Community Chest of Korea (CCK), the largest community-impact charity institution in Korea. Since 2003, Hankook & Company has been continuously making donations to the CCK, demonstrating its vision of creating prosperity and synergy in local communities. Through the added donation, the total amount of donations contributed by the company to CCK for 19 consecutive years reached KRW 12.8 billion. The new donation will be allocated to help underprivileged neighbors in the areas of Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungcheongnam-do. Hankook & Company Group continues to sponsor local communities in times of need. In 2020, KRW 100 million was donated to help those in Daejon and Chungcheongnam-do recover from damage caused by heavy rain, and KRW 500 million was also donated to support vulnerable groups such as low-income families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, KRW 200 million was donated to support victims in the east coast of Korea including Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Samcheok, Gangwon-do affected by forest fires that occurred in March. Its major affiliate company Hankook Tire is also carrying out a variety of activities in line with its slogan of 'Driving towards Happiness' by making donations relating to the topic of mobility. Its representative program, the Car Donation Project, began in 2008 with the aim of supporting social welfare institutions facing transportation difficulties.
