- Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia returns after a three-year break
- First race outing for Hankook’s newly developed Ventus Race tire
- Sepang a real test, with high temperatures and humidity

Seoul, Korea, 4 May 2023 – Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia returns to the international motorsport stage after a three-year absence. From the 5th to the 7th of May, Sepang will host the first of the six rounds that make up the series in Asia. Hankook’s new race tire, developed exclusively for the GT series, will be used for the first time at the 5.543-kilometer circuit in Malaysia. The premium tire maker is official technical partner and exclusive tire supplier of this season’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo, which is held in Asia, North America and Europe.

With two top-speed straights, eleven fast and four slower corners, Sepang International Circuit is a flowing track with challenging braking zones. Heat and high humidity make the circuit for the opening round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia a test of endurance for the drivers, cars and the Hankook race tires. Hankook Motorsport Director Europe, Manfred Sandbichler: “The medium compound of our race tire, which was developed specifically for Lamborghini Super Trofeo, really impressed in tests. The season-opener in Malaysia will be a challenge for all involved. However, I am sure that our Ventus Race and the teams will get the season off to a great start, with support from our engineers and mechanics on site. We are proud to be the technical partner of this iconic racing series in Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary year and are looking forward to the start in Asia.”

The renowned international one-make championship consists of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Europe and North America. All the participants in the Super Trofeo meet in the Grand Finals on the 18th and the 19th of November in Vallelunga, where Lamborghini will crown its overall winner for 2023 after two 50-minute sprints.
